  • Application of Trinic LS Lockup.

What you are doing and why: You are further locking up the surface of the concrete using a Lithium Silicate densifier. This will close the smaller micro pores of the concrete and provide an extremely tight surface.

    • The sealed concrete surface is strong, hard, chemically inert, and resistant to water, food, wine, solvents, acids, caustics, and oxidizers.
    • Vastly superior and versatile alternative to other products that frequently break down or white out when exposed to the elements.
    • Spot repairable.
    • Maximum ultra-violet (UV) resistance, maximum weather resistance.
    • No negative impact on environment/ecology, contains no toxic metals, cannot leach or peel.
    • Requires dense, high strength concrete to perform.
    • Trinic SB Sealer is intended for professional use.
PREP REQUIREMENTS:
  • Trinic SB Sealer requires an extremely dense surface to perform. The sealer will penetrate too deeply into the surface (get lost) no matter how many coats you wipe on if the surface is not dense enough. The densifying steps are critical to final performance. You can densify with Trinic LS densifier.

    • You can seal a surface polished to 200 grit (high enough to hide any visible scratch marks).
    • You can seal a surface polished to 800 for a high gloss look.
    • you can also seal a surface that has not been polished.
    • Surface must be clean, dry, and free from any oil, grease, wax or any other contaminants.
    • We recommend a minimum of 5 days post casting and 2 days post wet treatment prior to starting the application of sealer (depending on curing and ambient temperatures).
    • Trinic SB Sealer will seal any concrete surface that can be densified.
    • The denser the concrete the better the performance of Trinic SB sealer.
APPLICATION:

Option 1: Use the Trinic SB Surface Conditioner.

Option 2: Follow the densification steps below:

  • Application of Trinic LS Lockup.

What you are doing and why: You are further locking up the surface of the concrete using a Lithium Silicate desifier. This will close the smaller micro pores of the concrete and provide an extremely tight surface.

    How to do it:

    • Wipe on the ready to use (no dilution necessary) Trinic LS Lockup on the slab.
    • Keep it moist (not puddled) with dilution for 15 minutes
    • Wipe off excess, do not leave puddles.
    • Allow it to completely air dry, then buff with a black pad (400 to 800 grit twister) to remove any excess material.
    • Repeat this procedure a second time.
    • Let this sit overnight (24 hours) before proceeding to sealer application. This ensures that the reaction has enough time to occur.
  • Application of Trinic SB Countertop Sealer.

What you are doing and why: You are treating the concrete with a minimum five to eight wipe on coats of sealer. The first couple of coats may be totally absorbed into the concrete no matter how dense the concrete is, this is why densification is critical. The next couple of coats will form the protective layer.

    How to do it:

    • Add catalyst* to the sealer. The sealer ships with catalyst. The shelf life of the catalyzed sealer is a few hours in 90 degree temperatures with 90% relative humidity. Start with a 2% catalyst dosage, call use for dosage recommendations in cold or hot environments.
    • Use a microfiber cloth to apply the sealer to the concrete.
    • The first coat of sealer should soak the surface.
    • Allow 3 hrs (at 70 degrees) between applications.
    • The surface should be wet with sealer after each additional application. You will notice a slight sheen develop on or about the second or so application. This is one of the indicators that the micro pores have been filled.
    • If you do not notice a slight sheen develop after the fourth or so application you concrete may be too porous. Samples and testing are the way to tell.
    • You may need to lightly buff the sealer between coats to remove application marks.
    • You can buff the surface 24 hours after applying sealer.
EXPECTATION:

It is very important to make test pieces to evaluate best practices for your concrete. Please call us before using this product.

  • Your sealed concrete will require 7 days to reach full protection.

    • After one day water may still penetrate and leave a dark spot which will evaporate and return to the original color.
    • After three days white vinegar will leave a slight mark easily repaired with a wipe on application of sealer.
    • After seven days your concrete should have 12 to 24 hour resistance to all products in the home.
